At Carlisle this afternoon Argentix gave us a lot to look forward to after an extravagant round of jumping (including the sand track) and while a mistake two from home stopped him in his tracks he should be able to win some nice chases this winter on soft and heavy ground.
Vino's Choice took a bit of a step backwards, refusing to settle dropped to the rear of the field and while he looked…
Recent novice chase placed gelding Jump For Dough is for sale in 10% shares.
By Milan, this six year old has won and been placed over hurdles and was fourth on his chase debut at Hexham last week and once he tidies up his jumping he should be a decent chaser. He has lots of scope and no issues and we are looking forward to the rest of the season with him.
10% shares are…
A couple of solid runs from the team today at Kelso and Aintree.
Misfits made his seasonal comeback and traveled well through the two miles, just being caught flat footed in the closing stages. He will improve for this run and should be able to cast his maiden status before long.
Vengeur De Guye found the ground a bit lively and again was one paced in the closing stages. He really…
Rivabodiva tried hard and while she could not quite match the winner over three miles at Hexham this afternoon, her second placing illustrated her new-found consistency; she should be able to return to the winners spot again this season.
We had some promising runs from the others; Grand Morning, third, and Prince Dundee, fifth, have lovely ways of going and while they are both still weak…
Urban Kode bounced back to form under Thomas at Market Rasen when second over two miles two furlongs. We traveled for the right handed track and good ground and were rewarded with a return to his spring race form with Kody showing his usual determination and enthusiasm. He has been a cracking horse for his owners Peter and Susie Brown, John Baird and Tony Evans and he should have more success to…
We had a super win at Musselburgh with the British Racing Club's horse Superior Command taking the two mile handicap hurdle, winning on the line under a driving finish from Derek. Having dropped himself out he looked to be in trouble on the home turn, but Musselburgh suits Superior Command and he loves ploughing on past horses up the straight. Sadly he finished lame and we will see how he is in…
Some beautiful sunrises yesterday and today and the horses are all feeling sharp and well in the frosty weather.
We have five tomorrow at Musselburgh on good ground.
Maraweh missed the summer with a hind fetlock issue but he is back in training and looks enthusiastic. He is a little heavy but the race conditions will suit and it will be super to have him back on the track for the…
Celtic Flames ran a much better race to be fourth, settling well and showing a good attitude in the closing stages. It is taking time for him to come together after a long time off but today was definitely a step forward. He will be schooled over fences again and we are looking forward to his next run. Celtic and Mark are pictured with owner Willie Scott in the winners enclosure
A super day at Ayr for the yard with two nice wins and a good third.
Miss Tiggy, pictured, won the mares novice hurdle after over a year off to give her patient owner John Adam & Sons Ltd a deserved first win with this scopey mare. Over a year ago Miss Tiggy went lame behind and a stress fracture of her hind cannon needed to be screwed. Eugenio from the Edinburgh University Vets carried…
We have four runners tomorrow at Ayr on heavy ground.
Miss Tiggy starts our runners off in the mares hurdle; she has shown ability over hurdles in particular at Kelso over two and a half miles, and this season she has strengthened up. We are hoping to go chasing later on, but having had time off with a hind leg injury we will start her gently over the smaller obstacles.
