The weather gods relented and gave us a beautiful morning for our annual owners lunch.
The Saturday open day was a lot of fun until the end when the marquee was wrecked, and I think that everyone here felt deflated and exhausted by Saturday night, unsure of where the next days guests were going to sit to have lunch. However, with a brighter morning and a bit of rejigging of the smaller marquees it all came together.
Edinburgh Gin were here with their 'Tipple Trailer' giving out either Rhubarb and Ginger or Raspberry Gin prosecco cocktails, and the new rhubarb gin got a good reception too. We are proud to be sponsored by such a forward thinking, adaptive and quality gin company, many thanks to them.
It is unfair to single out just a few people to credit with the parade of the horses as the whole team had worked so hard to have the horses produced looking at their best; in a nice twist Ciorstaidh and Jaimie had organised every member of staff to lead up a horse and it was super to see everyone looking so proud and smart. The horses are looking marvellous and with their summer coats still shining they are a credit to everyone here.
Owning a racehorse is many things, and one of the best is the camaraderie and friendship that exists between owners. It was lovely to see so many of our owners and friends having a super time, and thanks to Heaven Scent of Milnathort they were well fed too.
So, now we can head into the start of September with horses getting ready for the half dozen race meetings and the season beyond.
