Bialco Wins At Perth

Bialco's win at Perth was well deserved as, having set a good pace in the novice hurdle, he stayed on determinedly to fend off the odds on favourite. It was a landmark win for jockey Blair Campbell as he now has his claim reduced to three pounds. Congratulations to The Vikings, Morten and Carsten who have a brave consistent hurdler on their hands; Bialco, pictured, may now head to Galway at the end of July.

In the same novice hurdle Refer To Rory travelled and jumped well for a novice but she stopped in the final few furlongs and will visit Eugenio this week to be checked out.

Chanceiton ran a blinder on his return from a break and his third placing will be built on this summer. He is a super fun horse for the yard and can be relied upon to run a solid race.

Also running well but being outpaced half way through the race was Royal Reserve who finished fifth; he seemed fresher but maybe needs further nowadays. Mannochmore was too keen through the bumper race and as a result ran out of petrol in the home straight; he has schooled well over hurdles and will now have a short break before embarking on novice hurdles.

The hard luck story goes to Argentix; making his comeback from injury he pecked on landing at the first and injured his tendon; Stephen pulled him up as soon as he could but the damage was done. He will be assessed over the next twenty four hours and a decision made on his long term future.
