Some creditable performances at Perth on the last day with close seconds from Boys On Tour and Misfits and good runs from the others.
Boys On Tour ran a cracker, headed in the home straight but battling back after the last to just be denied in a photo finish, pictured (Yellow arrow shows his nose!). It was sad to miss out but again Boys showed how tough and game he is. For a young horse he has developed into a very consistent and resilient chaser for Foresight Racing and there should be more to come from him.
Misfits has also run some outstanding races this year and, stepped up to the longer trips he has thrived. He was a closing second, beaten just over a length in the Highland National and should continue to be good fun for his owners County Set Four and Keith Hunter. He will now have a well deserved break.
Sky Khan was fifth in his handicap hurdle: he desperately needs some leeway from the handicapper and seems to pay for his consistency with a stationary mark. He has all of his old enthusiasm but is not getting any younger.
Finally we ran two bumper horses, Mannochmore and Flutter Down both were seeing a racecourse for the first time and were understandably green, but showed enough for us to be excited about their futures. They will stay in training to build on these races.
