We are looking forward to the Perth Festival, three days of competitive racing on our doorstep and our hospitality box which this year has had a make over and a new menu for snacks.
We are running just three tomorrow, starting with Emirat De Cantana in the maiden hurdle. Emirat is stepping up in distance and is a young horse who is gradually improving with time. We will know more about his optimum trip tomorrow and he will be well supported by his owners, the British Racing Club who are having a yard visit before the races.
Gemologist is small but has a great attitude and she has a light weight in the mares handicap hurdle. She is also stepping up to two and a half miles and if she runs well this will open up more options for her going forward.
Arizona Bound has had a busy year and while he has won over fences we are trying him back over hurdles for a freshen up. He is ridden by Hugo one of our amateur jockeys who has ridden winners on the flat in his native Portugal.
On the yard we are winding down a number of the horses and getting them ready for their summer turnout. Pictured are Glenpark and Emissaire who were turned out this afternoon to start their summer. At the same time the power washing of the stables has started and we have plans for some summer improvements and investments including a new gallop and a new lorry to complement our fleet of horseboxes. More news as it happens.
