Emirat Steps Up And Horses For Sale

Emirat De Catana stepped up on his previous form to be fourth in the novice hurdle at Newcastle today. More relaxed in front and jumping well he was outpaced over the shorter than ideal trip but galloped to the line and will improve on this run over a longer trip. He is pictured working at Kilduff last week with Hugo. Izzy's Champion was rather keen dropped in but he also rallied in the home straight to be fifth and there is more to come from this athletic chap.

We have a couple of horses for sale who will be cracking prospects for the summer and beyond. In particular, we have two four year olds who we bought in the autumn and who have had good breaks and are now ready to run.

Gripper has won over one mile six furlongs and shows a good level of ability at home. Comfortable on the fast ground he has schooled proficiently and should be a tough type to run at Perth this year. He is for sale in shares at £2,900 per 10% share plus a monthly fee of £195 and there is a friendly partnership waiting for you to join.

We also have Blooriedotcom who has been impressing us on the gallops and could be rather special. He will be fine on soft and good ground and has some smart form on the flat. He is for sale as a whole and is highly recommended.

More details on both horses on our OWNERSHIP page, or by email from the OFFICE

I commend the Levy Board for stepping in with a £6.5 million pounds loan to maintain prize money levels throughout 2019, with emphasis on the mid to bottom tier. What happens beyond that remains to be seen.

I hark back Lucinda to what I said recently, in so much as, racing needs to find an alternative funding model, something which does not rely solely on bookmakers. Too much has been taken out of the industry and not enough has gone in!

It was no surprise to see Towcester give up its fixtures for the remainder of this season. In the present climate it is difficult to be enthusiastic about Towcester, especially, as the course has shown no inclination to even apply for a licence. This is a very sad state of affairs.
