Vacancy for a work rider.
The job: Riding out on the gallops and schooling over poles, hurdles and fences.
The horses: You will ride young and experienced horses on the gallops, an average of five lots a day. A high level of riding experience is required. You will also assist in schooling and educating novice horses.
The yard: Washing off after exercise. In the afternoons you will help with the brushing off and yard duties or may be required to ride more horses.
The future: You will be given full support and training to progress. For those keen to take out their jockey licences you will be under the supervision of Peter Scudamore who will guide you through your career.
You: Should have previous riding experience and be riding fit. You may wish to take out your jockey license, or be a current jockey looking to improve. You should be able to work within a structured routine and have excellent timekeeping. You will be an organised team player who enjoys producing successful racehorses. Two references will be required, including one relating to your horsemanship.
